Blueprint illustration of the first factory building

In 1858, Ferdinand Weise and his wife took a leap of faith by investing their last savings into a hand-operated lace-making machine, setting up a modest workshop at a rented site in Pegau, Saxony.

Through tireless dedication, they transformed that single machine into a thriving operation. Their hard work paid off, and by 1869 they had purchased the site, expanding their machinery and broadening their product line.

As the business grew, so did the family’s role within it. Weise-branded goods were shipped daily to branches in Hamburg, Leipzig, Berlin, Bucharest, and Shanghai, reaching customers around the globe.

What began with two determined hearts and a single machine grew into a global enterprise. Ferdinand and his wife exemplified how great things can flourish from humble beginnings when built on collaboration and dedication. Today, these principles continue to guide us, carrying forward what those two hearts set in motion.
